Scientists in Switzerland have made a major breakthrough in fighting spinal cord injuries, using a wireless implant to allow paralyzed monkeys to walk again.
The Swiss study uses the electrical impulses to move the paralyzed body parts themselves.

"Normally, the brain is giving commands, and the legs are responding to the commands through the spinal cord. When you have a spinal cord lesion, then this command is interrupted," says Bloch.
